Every Oieffur product currently listed in the shop is made from platinum-cured silicone. The material is non-porous, and it can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap or sterilised by boiling or with a bleach solution.
This guide keeps the material claims narrow and the care instructions practical. No certification claim is implied.
Material Facts
Platinum-cured silicone is non-porous. That matters because residue stays on the surface, where it can be washed away, instead of settling inside the material.
It can be boiled and can be sterilised with a correctly diluted household bleach solution. Silicone also does not degrade the way TPE does. We do not put a lifespan number on a finished product because care and use vary.
What Oieffur Uses
Every piece currently listed in the shop uses platinum-cured silicone. Some designs use a dual-density build: a firmer silicone core inside a softer silicone outer layer.
Current verified examples are Strong Bow in every size, Hot Surge in M and L, and Milking Fruit II as a two-part piece with a separate firm core. Vargrahl and Mirror Anal Plug are not dual-density: they are poured from two silicones split along the length, a softer upper half over a firmer lower half. The rest of the range should not be assumed to use either construction.
Daily Cleaning
Clean the piece after every use.
- Rinse it under warm running water to remove surface residue.
- Apply a small amount of mild, unscented soap.
- Work the soap over the whole surface, including recesses and the underside of flared areas.
- Rinse until no soap remains.
- Pat dry with a lint-free cloth, or leave it to air dry completely.
Do not put it away wet. Moisture will not soak into the silicone, but it can cause mildew on a damp storage pouch.
Deep Sterilisation
Sterilise before sharing, after anal use, or when routine washing is not enough.
Boiling
- Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.
- Place a cloth in the bottom so the piece does not rest against hot metal.
- Submerge the piece for three to five minutes.
- Remove it with tongs and let it cool on a clean towel.
Bleach solution
- Mix one part unscented household bleach with nine parts cold water.
- Submerge the piece for ten minutes.
- Rinse under running water for at least thirty seconds.
- Leave it to air dry completely.
Use one method. More chemical is not better.

Water-based lubricant is the uncomplicated choice.
Storage
Store each piece separately, completely dry, in a cool and dark place. The dust-free pouch included with your order is intended for this.
A drawer works. Keep the pouch clean and let both the pouch and the piece dry before they meet again.
What to Avoid
- Do not put a damp piece into its pouch.
- Do not use a microwave, hairdryer or direct heat source.
- Avoid the dishwasher. Detergent residue can remain in recessed areas.
- Do not share a piece before sterilising it.
Warming
Submerge the piece in warm water for two to three minutes, pat it dry, and test the temperature against your inner wrist before use.
Warm water is enough. Direct heat can create hot spots.
When to Replace
Inspect the surface while cleaning. Replace the piece if you find a tear or cut, a persistent odour after sterilising, a tacky surface that does not clear after washing, or a marked change in structure.
A small colour shift on its own is not the same as a damaged surface. If colour change arrives with odour, tackiness or a texture change, stop using the piece.

How do I sterilise between uses?

Can I boil a dual-density piece?
Yes. The dual-density examples named on this page, and the two-firmness Vargrahl and Mirror Anal Plug, use platinum-cured silicone in both parts. Follow the same boiling instructions.
Can I use an Oieffur piece in the bath or shower?
Yes. Platinum-cured silicone is waterproof. Water will rinse lubricant away more quickly, so reapply when needed.
